The Platform Architect Logistics & RTM is responsible for leading, maintaining and leveraging the application architecture across his/her architecture focus area. Creates a roadmap & supports the definition of strategic direction for technologies that enables business driven technology solutions. Assesses all available solutions to ensure that they are aligned with the strategic directions and fit for purpose, considering the development, customization, integration and maintenance of the technology solutions.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• LEAD AND INSPIRE:
o Able to promote successfully his/her vision about the application and technology roadmaps and get the necessary alignment and support from business stakeholders.
o Able to lead the cross functional alignment needed when big architectural decisions are made
o Provides leadership in area of expertise to project personnel, particularly during design and implementation phases.
o Gains commitment from the customer on introduction of the application standards
o Persuasively communicate and promote to stakeholders (vendors, delivery) the importance and value of the Architecture application standards
o Regularly ask key stakeholders for feedback and take respective actions to address itComplex
• CREATE PARTNERSHIP FOR GROWTH:
o Collaborate with business functions, design sub-function, vendors to understand business processes/functions/capabilities; determine direction and technologies to be used.
o Works closely with the design department, strategic business alignment manager, program management office, application development and infrastructure design
o Assess all aspects of the application portfolio
• INNOVATE FOR GROWTH
o Contributes to direction of initiatives (assist in creating the charter, plan); initiatives generally require operating within a designated architectural domain (i.e.business, solution, information, etc).
o Conduct development and analysis of alternative solutions; determine how solution fits in with the enterprise roadmaps and business plans; ensures the alignment of solutions with organizational strategies and needs and engages in risk assessment and mitigation.
o Recommend improvements to existing data, application, and infrastructure architectures in areas of expertise. Works with vendors
o and benchmarks to identify relevant innovation.
o Assist with RFP development and evaluation as needed.
o Owns and updates regularly (at least yearly) the application roadmap for the applications the area of responsibility; aligns roadmaps
o with the business.
o Ensures that roadmaps are tightly connected to Business Plan and demands to ensure their short-term and long-term relevancy
• MANAGE WITH EXCELENCE
o Recommends and participates in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Solution/ Application Architecture.
o Provides guidance, assistance and communication on architectural designs,
o definitions and guidelines to vendors, delivery and operational teams.
o Ensures that solutions are consistent with the architectural direction for the project and the organization’s architectural landscape.
o Defines Application Architecture processes and leading the integration of these processes with other related business and IT processes
• DELIVER SUSTAINABLE GROWTH
o Understands business needs. Provides the high level business to system mapping and complements the business requirements with all necessary non-functional requirements for the solutions as input for project work packages.
o Provide and assess solution options. Find the right balance for a solution to meet the requirements and cost.
o Provide architectural oversight to the implementation and review deliverables
ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Min 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong project management skills, knowledge and experience with New Business Functionality projects
• Strong vendor management skills, knowledge and experience in vendor selection, contracting, collaboration
• Strong FMCG industry-specific solutions knowledge in one of the functional areas (Commercial, Supply Chain, HR& PAC or Finance & Legal)
proficiency in at least one of the sub-areas listed
• Strong FMCG business process awareness in one of the functional areas of Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
