risk officer

We are seeking an experienced Risk Officer to join our dynamic team at Cosmote Payments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the Risk Management, ensuring an appropriate risk awareness culture is built into the business and operational processes. Risk Officer is responsible for leading on all elements of risk management, supporting business leadership to make the right decisions with regards to business risk, which could lower the company’s profits or lead it to fail.

COSMOTE Payments, a 100% subsidiary of OTE S.A., came into existence as an e-money institution licensed by the Bank of Greece in 2020. Being a new fintech, our goal is to design and provide new innovative products to consumers and companies while operating in a startup-like environment.

Duties & responsibilities

• Participation in the formation of the Risk Management Framework and its effective implementation
• Ensures the development of a clear and documented framework of duties and responsibilities
• Evaluation of the reports and proposals submitted by the Company's Units regarding the implementation of the action plans dealing with respective risks
• Sets the standards and methodologies for risk assessment, monitoring, control, data collection damages and reporting
• Advises on risk accountability and control mechanisms
• Evaluation of risk management procedures, including risk reduction techniques, as well as recommendation of appropriate techniques and measures to mitigate and adjust risks within acceptable limits
• Submission of reports on risk management to the Company's Management, at least quarterly, and the auditing authority (Bank of Greece)

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in Risk management or a related field
• Proven track record of identifying and managing financial, operational, and compliance risks
• Experience in creating and implementing risk management strategies, frameworks, and tools
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficient in risk management software and tools
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
