(platform) solution architect – cloud in a box

Join the innovative Deutsche Telekom Europe team, where you will be an integral part of our B2B business division, specializing in Datacenter and Cloud Services.

As an experienced and forward-thinking Datacenter and Cloud expert, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our datacenter and cloud infrastructure portfolio. Your expertise will be crucial in launching new IaaS and PaaS services as well as onboarding new customers.

As a Solution Architect for shared-private clouds, you will take ownership of solution design and delivery across all project phases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, developers, and operations teams, to ensure the successful implementation of secure, scalable, and cost-effective shared-private cloud solutions. Your expertise in private cloud platforms such as VMware, OpenStack, or Kubernetes is essential for driving innovation and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

• Support presales and solution architecture for Deutsche Telekom’s B2B Europe central cloud and data center team, with a regional focus on four EU countries.

• Design and propose end-to-end private cloud architectures aligned with business goals and technical standards.

• Lead implementation of cloud solutions, ensuring technical compliance and timely delivery.

• Contribute to the commercial and technical evolution of standard IaaS/PaaS offerings and "Cloud in the box" models.

Required Skills

• Expertise in private cloud platforms such as VMware vSphere, OpenStack, Kubernetes, or equivalent.

• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware, KVM).

• Familiarity with computing concepts and storage solutions.

• Experience with security frameworks for private clouds (e.g., ISO 27001 compliance).

• Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies

• Strong analytical skills for evaluating technical challenges and proposing effective solutions.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders including clients, technical teams, and management.

• Leadership capabilities to manage cross-functional teams and drive project success.

• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Need to have:

• 3-5+ years of relevant experience in terms of the mentioned fields and the tasks and duties above;

• Ability for regular travels;

• Fluent English language skills in both spoken and written, you will need to use it in your daily work;

• Ability to communicate technical and business aspects, identify client needs, and present complex solutions in an understandable way;

• Capability of keeping up with the rapidly changing technological landscape and quickly mastering new technologies;

• Knowledge of market trends and competitive issues, outlining business benefits and return on investment calculations in relation to technological solutions;

• Driving licence category ’B’.
