About the job
The successful candidate will support an existing application within Chubb with both existing data feeds into the application, and to set up new data feeds into the application as required. The role requires the successful candidate to be able to work with data analysts/architects, business sponsors, business analysts and the IT PM to understand fully data requirements. In addition, the successful candidate will work the IT departments to organize job scheduling, organize access to the relevant Data Marts or Databases, and to manage any related service accounts and service account password management.
Responsibilities
- Data Project Lifecycle administration – when adding new data feeds to the target data consumer application best practice ETL processes/standards must be followed.
- Scripting - able to script data extraction jobs from multiple data sources both in the AIP data platform (data marts) or directly from source system databases. Also should be able to script administration/housekeeping activities.
- Data Logic - able to collate data extractions into Netezza and if required apply data manipulation logic (e.g currency conversion to USD) before loading into the target consumer database.
- Optimization - able to optimize and performance tune extraction scripts.
- Automation - good working knowledge of Automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible and Shell scripting
- Communication - good communication skills are key to the success of this role.
- Security Standards - working with architects & technical leads to ensure that all data security protocols are applied.

- Degree/Baccalaureate education level.
- Experience in Linux, ETL and Data administration in a corporate environment.
- Able to demonstrate strong expertise in ETL scripting for purposes of administration and data extraction from various sources. Common databases at Chubb are SQL & DB2, the AIP data marts, also some limited use of MongoDB.
- Able to demonstrate working closely with peers and architectural leads to ensure that the correct standards and procedures are followed.
