About the job

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with a focus on quality and detail who will be engaged in all testing activities, will author new test suites, maintain existing ones and promote automation of the QA processes. The QA Lead is expected to be eager to invest time exploring the software to better understand the functionality of some of our most complex and demanding IT systems, whilst form and lead an innovative Quality Assurance Team.

The role reports to the Applications Development Director, Technology Division.

Key accountabilities


• Drive the software quality assurance lifecycle and deliver high-quality releases on time


• Define testing strategy and work with cross functional team members to implement it


• Perform various types of testing and document and report test results and metrics– API testing, integration testing, system and workflow testing, acceptance testing, UI testing, regression, performance and high availability testing


• Develop and maintain test cases and test suites for existing and future applications


• Contribute to the development of the toolchain that will support the QA lifecycle and the automation of testing and introduce automated testing tools to development teams


• Develop and execute automated UI, API and functional test suites


• Manage meetings and set goals, provide feedback on testing-related tasks, delegate and assign testing responsibilities


• Instruct and mentor the QA team members by helping them to make decisions and solve problems


• Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback


• Seek and participate in personal development opportunities to maintain a detailed knowledge of industry standards, engineering best practices, and business needs



Knowledge and experience


• 3 years of experience in software quality assurance


• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology/ Engineering or science degree in combination with a postgraduate degree in Information Technology


• Proven experience with test automation and test management tools


• Understanding of various programming languages including Java, C, SQL, Javascript


• Knowledge of client / server and internet systems architectures


• Understanding of software version control systems and devops practices


• Good knowledge of Operating systems, such as LINUX (Redhat, CentOS) and MS Windows


• Scripting or programming skills for automating tasks (Python, bash)


• A good understanding of continuous integration/delivery and the tools commonly used to build CI/CD solutions, such as Gitlab, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Nexus and Sonar


• Hands-on experience with Cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) would be a plus

• A strong team player with the ability to work autonomously as well

• People management skills, including proven ability to oversee the training, development, motivation and day-to-day management of team members

• A good communicator fluent in both Greek and English


• An analytical thinker with problem solving skills


• Eager to learn and adopt new technologies


• Patience and persistence to achieve the highest quality standards
