About the job

The Legal Counsel will participate in the activities of the Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Division, collaborate with its other legal counsels and executives, and assume responsibility for specific projects assigned to them with limited supervision.

The role reports to the General Counsel, Chief Legal, Regulatory and Compliance Officer, Deputy Chief Officer.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drawing up and reviewing contracts, terms and conditions, applications, and other legal documentation about licensed and non-licensed services provided by Group companies

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating comprehensive commercial agreements between Group companies and their clients, third-party service providers and suppliers

  • Providing strategic legal advice to business units on regulatory compliance matters to minimize legal and compliance risks for Group companies during product development and service delivery

  • Contributing to the drafting and revision of the Rulebooks and delegated Board of Directors' Resolutions that define the operational framework and service delivery methodologies across the Group

  • Monitoring and analyzing developments in legal and regulatory frameworks (including MiFID II, BMR, EMIR, CSDR, SRD II, MAR, Law 4706/2020, etc.) and ensuring ongoing compliance with them

  • Preparing, revising, and overseeing the implementation of regulations, policies, procedures, and adaptation measures to ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

  • Coordinating and managing litigation matters involving Group companies

  • Maintaining liaison with the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission and other competent regulatory authorities for providing clarifications, submitting reports or applications, and addressing matters concerning Group company operations and market management activities

Knowledge and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from an accredited university and Master's degree (LL.M.) in Corporate Law, Commercial Law, Capital Markets Law, Financial Regulation, or related field preferred

  • At least 6 years of professional experience with specialization in commercial contracts, capital markets law, financial law, and regulatory compliance matters in a listed or supervised company, or in a law firm or consulting firm

  • Demonstrated expertise in comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting complex regulatory frameworks and legislative texts

  • Fluent in Greek and excellent command of English

Skills & Competences

  • Advanced analytical and synthesis capabilities for developing comprehensive regulations, policies, and procedures within complex regulatory frameworks

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related business applications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly

  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and lead regulatory initiatives

  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality standards

  • Fulfilled military obligations (for men)
