About the job

Maran Gas Maritime Inc., one of the world’s leading ship management companies and part of the Angelicoussis Group, is looking for an experienced and motivated candidate for the position of Crew Operator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures officers and crew qualifications (including all necessary licenses and certificates as required by MLC/STCW, familiarity with Greek Flag Regulations).

  • Extends the due diligence for selecting competent and experienced officers and crew in collaboration with the Crew Manager.

  • Checking of Manning Levels in relation to the MGM Manning requirements, Crew Matrix as per vetting requirements of each vessel, ensuring compliance at all times.

  • Maintains an updated copy of the vessels’ crew list at all times.

  • Supervises and acts as liaison with the company's appointed Crew Managers.

  • Monitors and evaluates the performance of the seafarers and identifies their training needs, develops, and proposes a plan to the Crew Manager.

  • Controls and maintains record of all documents required by crew members e.g. National and Flag certification, medical documents, evaluations, visas, ticketing, etc.

  • Liaises with Port Agents and Crew Managers for the dispatch of the crew to/ from vessels.

  • Correspondence with vessel Flag Administrations, and manning agents for crew-relevant matters.

Candidate must have

  • University degree in Maritime Studies or relevant field.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the Crew department of a reputable Gas Company.

  • Fluency in English (written and oral).

  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • Literacy in MS Office suite.
