group consolidation accountant

Alpha Bank is currently seeking a talented Group Consolidation Accountant to join the accounting and financial reporting team. The jobholder will assist in the consolidation of accounting records, preparation of the consolidated trial balance as well as the process of preparation and analysis of consolidated Financial Statements for the Group.

The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, highly-skilled professional, able to perform in a fast-paced environment and to deliver high-quality projects in a timely manner. The jobholder should possess solid analytical thinking and problem-solving skills along with a goal-oriented approach.

What you will be doing

• Preparing consolidated financial statements for the banking group, which combines the financial results and position of the Bank and its subsidiaries. Ensuring that the statements adhere to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicating with Group companies, modifying and requesting clarifications on their financial figures.
• Participating in the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc, internal and external presentations (Audit Committee, SSM, informative reports and hoc exercises).
• Supporting the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, Finrep, Pillar II, Pillar III, STE.
• Operating and maintaining the application that monitors the accounting consolidation of the Group Companies (SAP Consolidation Module) and providing support in the implementation of new applications and processes.
• Collaborating with external auditors on matters arising from the audit of the Group's Financial Statements.
• Developing and maintaining internal controls to ensure an adequate internal control system.

What you need to have

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics, or any other related field of study
• A Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields of study will be considered a plus
• A professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, ACA or a local equivalent, or working towards such a qualification
• At least five (5) years’ of professional experience in a similar role, or auditing the statutory financial statements of large groups, preferably financial institutions
• Strong ability to consolidate and analyze financial and non-financial data
• Familiarization with the SAP platform will be considered a strong plus
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work autonomously
• Excellent command of the English and the Greek language (both written and spoken)
• Advanced use of the MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
