About the job
As a Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all accounting and tax-related matters for a number of subsidiaries within the Alpha Bank Group, ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements and the timely settlement of tax obligations. You will play a key role in supporting compliance, IFRS reporting, and tax planning, contributing to the Bank’s subsidiaries overall financial integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and maintain the companies’ accounting books and records.
Calculate tax liabilities and prepare/submit all relevant tax returns (e.g., income tax, VAT, stamp duty) .
Use platforms like myDATA and provide specifications for its integration into accounting systems.
Record accounting entries and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Participate in accounting and tax procedures related to property and company acquisitions.
Monitor developments in Greek tax legislation (including Law 4548/2018) and assess their impact on the operations and compliance framework of the companies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, Legal) and external parties to ensure consistency, transparency, and compliance.
Analyze financial and tax-related issues, applying a holistic and proactive approach to problem-solving.
What you need to have
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s in Accounting, Economics, or a relevant discipline preferred.
At least five (5) years of professional experience in preparing financial statements and maintaining accounting and tax records, ideally in banking/financial services.
Solid understanding of IFRS and Greek tax legislation, including income tax, VAT, tax procedure code, and stamp duty.
Thorough knowledge of the myDATA platform and its integration with accounting systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP/accounting software (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate reporting.
Excellent communication skills in Greek and English, with collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
Strong organizational skills, foresight, and the ability to handle complex issues rationally and holistically.
