As a Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and processing all tax-related matters, ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of tax obligations to the relevant authorities. You will play a key role in supporting compliance, tax planning, and optimization activities, contributing to the Bank’s overall financial integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing
Participate in tax research, analysis, and interpretation to support compliance, tax planning, and optimization initiatives, including the impact assessment of new tax laws and transfer pricing regulations
Calculate tax liabilities and support the preparation and submission of tax returns and external filings (e.g., via the IAPR e-book platform – MyData)
Manage the systemic supervision of tax activities (VAT, income tax, etc.), ensuring timely and accurate submission of reports to the relevant authorities
Prepare and file the annual income tax return, ensuring compliance with national tax regulations
Ensure the collection, reconciliation, and validation of financial data to enable timely and accurate tax payments
Prepare reports and reconciliations related to payments, accounts payable, and other tax-related transactions
Monitor developments in Greek and international tax legislation, assessing their potential impact on the Bank’s operations and compliance framework
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, and Legal teams) to ensure consistency, accuracy, and transparency across all tax and financial reporting activities
What you need to have
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
A Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or a relevant discipline (preferred)
At least four (4) years of professional experience in accounting or tax-related roles, ideally within the banking or financial sector
Solid understanding of Greek tax regulations, VAT, and corporate tax reporting processes
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems or accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and commitment to meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills in Greek and English, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
