What you'll do

- Identify cost optimization opportunities and recommend operational improvements
Key requirements
- 7+ years' experience
- Financial accounting, budgeting, cost allocation, and cost reporting
- Data analysis using Power BI, Excel, SQL or similar tools
- IT cost modeling and IT financial management
- Communication and collaboration skills with Finance, Technology and Business stakeholders
- Financial services knowledge and understanding of IT systems
- Analytical thinking to identify cost optimization opportunities
- Finance / Engineering / Computer Science / Economicspreferred

About the job
As a FinOps Senior Specialist you will be responsible for creating IT cost models (CapEx & OpEx), identifying all cost pools and managing the cost allocation to the Business Units of the Bank.
What you will be doing
• Analyze capital and operating expenditure requests and prepare the supporting documentation required for approval proposals.
• Record and maintain cost components in the relevant systems, including projects, cost categories, related costs and allocation drivers.
• Monitor the evolution and depreciation of assets, prepare relevant reports and coordinate feedback on their useful life.
• Implement actions such as useful-life extensions or asset impairments in collaboration with system owners, Accounting and Business stakeholders.
• Design and produce cost reports that monitor progress, productivity, efficiency and outcomes across the cost categories under your responsibility.
• Monitor actual costs against approved budgets, investigate variances and report potential deviations.
• Analyze large and complex datasets and turn findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Communicate findings, recommendations and potential solutions clearly to management, team members and other stakeholders.
• Lead the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the chargeback model, including data feeds, cost components, allocation rules and drivers.
• Identify cost-optimization opportunities and recommend operational improements within your area of responsibility.
What you need to have
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or another relevant discipline.
• A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field will be considered an asset.
• At least seven years of relevant professional experience combining financial-services knowledge with exposure to technology systems or IT financial management.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting, budgeting, cost allocation and performance reporting.
• Proven ability to collect, structure and analyze large datasets and translate them into meaningful business insights.
• Strong business acumen and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify practical opportunities for cost optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with Finance, Technology and Business stakeholders.
• Learning agility and a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Good understanding of reporting and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL or similar platforms) with the ability to create and interpret management reports and dashboards.
• Understanding of IT systems, enabling effective collaboration with Technology teams and interpretation of technology cost drivers.
• Familiarity with data flows, system integrations and technology operating models will be considered an asset.
• Ability to engage effectively with technology teams and understand the key drivers of application, infrastructure, cloud and project-related costs
• FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Professional or equivalent certification will be considered an asset
