About the job

The Business Continuity Senior Specialist, as part of the bank’s Operational Effectiveness & Organization business area, will be working closely with various business & technology units of the Bank with the objective of ensuring the bank's preparedness and resilience in the face of potential crises as well as the appropriate handling and coordination of crisis events if they occur. The responsibilities include the activation and coordination of the of the Crisis Management Process, the activation and coordination of the of the Business Continuity Plan, as well as the composition of post incident review reports.
The ideal candidate shall possess a deep understanding of risk management, operational continuity and innovative engineering practices designed to challenge and strengthen the bank's systems and processes. 

What you will be doing

 

Crisis Management

• Coordination of the development, evaluation, signoff and distribution of crisis management plans and policies
• Coordination of educational initiatives about crisis management handling 
• In case of a crisis event
   o Invocation and coordination of the crisis management team
   o Provide support to the COO during the handling of the crisis event
   o Coordination of all involved parties
   o Estimation of the financial and non-financial impact of the event
   o Composition of post incident review reports 


Business Continuity Management

• Coordination of the development, evaluation, signoff and distribution of business continuity plans as well as for their completeness
• Coordination of educational initiatives about business continuity management 
• Activation of the business continuity plan and
   o Coordination of the recovery actions and assessment of their effectiveness
   o Estimation of the financial and non-financial impact of the event
   o Composition of post incident review reports and update of business continuity plans


Chaos Engineering (optional)

• Introduce Chaos Engineering practices to proactively identify weaknesses in the bank's systems and processes.
• Design and coordinate the execution of experiments to test the resilience of various systems and processes under unexpected conditions.
• Analyze the results of chaos engineering experiments and recommend improvements to enhance system and process robustness.
• Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity and Enterprise Risk Management teams to ensure that chaos engineering practices are integrated into the bank's overall IT risk management framework.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in chaos engineering and incorporate best practices into the bank's operations.

 

What you need to have  

 

• A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering, Risk Management or any other related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in crisis management and business continuity planning. Ideally at least 5 of them shall be in the banking or financial services sector.
• Experience with chaos engineering tools and methodologies will be considered a plus
• Proven track record of successfully managing critical incidents and implementing effective business continuity strategies.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to assess complex risk scenarios.
• Excellent stakeholder management and presentation/communication skills
• Excellent influencing and project/time management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and interact with senior management.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
• Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Resilient and adaptable; able to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to crisis management and business continuity.
• Certifications in crisis management, business continuity, or risk management (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional - CBCP, Certified Risk Manager - CRM) will be considered a plus
