advisory solution designer

As an Advisory Solution Designer will be joining the Payments & Fund Transfers Systems Domain of IT Core Banking Services Division of Alpha Bank S.A., which is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and support of IT solutions, products, and services in Credit Transfers, Payments and International Trade. 

Working closely with IT and Business stakeholders, the person chosen will participate in IT projects, analyzing Business and Regulatory Requirements for IT projects in Core Banking Systems focusing on Credit Transfers, Direct Debits and Payments. 

What you will be doing

• Understanding Business Units’ requirements (recognizing possible gaps and assisting in requirements finalization) and communicating them to the Project team.

• Perform high level effort and cost estimation on submitted project proposals.

• Transform Business requirements into high level technical designs (including functionality gap analysis) compatible with Banks’ current architecture model.

• Design the architectural blueprint (technical requirements) of IT solutions and applications.

• Provide input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios.

• Manage and lead the development lifecycle of IT solutions and applications.

• Coordinate the documentation creation (technical and architectural design documents).

• Review vendor solutions and estimates and determines whether they meet project requirements and restrictions.

What you need to have

• A Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science or related field is required. A post graduate degree in one of these areas would be considered a strong plus.

• A minimum of five (5) years experience as Solution Architect or similar role in banking / financial sector with proven experience in Core Banking Systems and especially in Payment and Fund Transfer systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English.

• Proven experience in leading/working directly with software development teams in Enterprise level projects (Agile and Waterfall methodologies).

• Comprehend of European Payments landscape including SEPA Credits Transfers, SEPA Direct Debits and Pan European Instant Payment scheme.

• Knowledge of Swift technology, DIAS Clearing House services and ISO 20022 standard.

• Knowledge of Java, Azure DevOps, Web Services, RedHat fuse, MsSql, IBM MQs, Kafka technology.
