What you'll do
- Review business and technical requirements and design scalable, modular software solutions
- Lead development and refactoring of applications according to architectural standards and platform roadmap
- Identify technical debt and drive refactoring or modernization initiatives
- Ensure high software quality through code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and collaboration with QA
- Follow best practices and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to deliver clean, testable code
- Monitor application performance and provide 2nd and 3rd-level maintenance and support
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and design artifacts
- Respond to ad-hoc assignments supporting evolving business needs
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements for operations
Key requirements
- Java/J2EE development with frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA, JavaEE/JakartaEE, and JUnit
- Relational and non-relational databases including MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB
- RESTful API design and integration with JSON, XML, and SOAP
- Git or Subversion for version control and CI/CD pipeline experience
- Agile methodologies and experience in Linux environments
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) and commitment to Clean Code and scalable application design
- Computer Science / Information Technology / STEMpreferred
