What you'll do
- Provide legal advice and support on company and corporate law matters
- Prepare and review corporate legal documents
- Provide legal consultation on corporate restructuring projects
- Execute due diligence processes and risk assessments for corporate transactions
- Provide legal review and assistance on new business initiatives and M&A transactions
- Provide legal review and counselling on financial structures and contracts with banks, bond loans, and credit facilities
- Develop corporate governance policies and materials in compliance with best governance practices
- Provide accurate, timely, business-oriented legal advice on various legal topics related to business operations
- Monitor regulatory and legal changes, assess impact on operations, identify legal risks, and propose mitigation actions
Key requirements
- 3+ years' experience
- Company Law and Corporate Law expertise
- Legal Advice, Legal Consultation, and Legal Compliance skills
- Due Diligence and Risk Assessment capabilities
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) knowledge
- Contract Review experience especially with financial and credit agreements
- Corporate Governance understanding
- Strong Communication, Negotiation, and Creative Problem Solving skills
- English Language Proficiency and Greek Language Proficiency
- Law / Company Law

About the job
As a Lawyer you will be providing legal advice and consultation for the business operations of the assigned area of responsibility and handling the execution of legal actions for the avoidance of potential legal risks and the protection of OPAP Group interests.
Your day to day will include:
Providing legal advice and support on company and corporate law matters, preparing and reviewing corporate legal documents, providing legal consultation on corporate restructuring projects.
Executing due diligence processes and risk assessments for corporate transactions and providing legal review and assistance on new business initiatives and M&A transactions.
Providing legal review, assistance and counselling on financial structures, any type of contracts with banks, bond loans and other credit facility agreements.
Developing corporate governance policies and other materials in compliance with best governance practices.
Providing accurate, timely and business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of legal topics relating to OPAP’s business operations.
Monitoring changes in the regulatory and legal framework, assessing their impact on OPAP operations; identifying areas of legal risk and proposing mitigating actions.
What you need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) and master’s degree (LLM) in Company/Corporate or Business Law
3-5 years of respective experience as a lawyer within a large organization or a prominent law firm
Strong communication, negotiation & influencing skills
Creative problem solving – ability to handle complex legal issues
Excellent knowledge of English & Greek
