procurement engineer | building and civil engineering projects

We are looking for a highly skilled Procurement Engineer for Building and Civil Engineering Projects to join our team.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Source and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability

• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best value while mitigating risks

• Conduct new business contracts and manage suppliers’ payment

• Manage purchase orders and procurement documentation

• Collaborate with Line managers and teams to identify material needs and align procurement activities with project schedules

• Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contract terms, quality standards, and delivery schedules

• Conduct market research to stay informed about trends, pricing, and supply chain challenges in the construction sector

• Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards in procurement processes

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement team members

Job qualifications and requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Civil Engineering

• Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement experience within building and civil engineering projects

• Previous experience in a similar role within construction industry will be considered an asset

• Excellent command of MS-Office Suite

• Knowledge of procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle, or similar) would constitute an added value

• Good knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supply chain processes

• Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and subcontracting processes

• Ability to embody ESG principles in procurement strategies, including sustainable sourcing and ethical vendor selection will be a plus

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
