Optimal Learning Program Aide

ACS Athens, a student-centered international school, embracing American educational philosophy, principles and values, is seeking to recruit an Optimal Learning Program Aide. The position reports to the Optimal Learning Program Coordinator.

The job of the Optimal Learning Program Aide entails executing all assigned responsibilities of the program's components and related activities, maintaining confidential information, and implementing and maintaining standard of services within the ACS Athens established guidelines.

Duties:

  • Be knowledgeable of student caseload and individual needs and accommodations;
  • Accommodating assignments, tests, quizzes, as needed by OLP Specialist;
  • Provide MAP testing room accommodations;
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with OLP Specialists, Coordinator and Aides;
  • Review and update list of students needing psycho-educational assessment;
  • Create schedules for and with students;
  • Assist in individualized lesson planning;
  • Assist in updating Moodle Shell;
  • Filing confidential documents;
  • Classroom observations;
  • Classroom and supply maintenance;
  • OLP floor standby;
  • Creative problem solving and troubleshooting;
  • Make photocopies;
  • Updating Skyward for teacher access to ILPs;
  • Provide scribe and oral accommodations;
  • Deliver sealed tests to faculty/faculty boxes;
  • Participate in OLP Team Meetings;
  • Updating Skyward;
  • Presentations to Staff/ Faculty as needed;
  • Assist in teaching OLP blocks;
  • Assist in drafting ILP/ISP documents for students;
  • Conduct OLP Consultation Sessions and update Consultation Logs;
  • Reviewing confidential files and updating existing files;
  • Assist in preparing purchase orders for annual budget needs;
  • Assist in the development of new forms;
  • Assist in creating study guides for tests;
  • Participate in Professional Development;
  • Other duties as assigned daily.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education, Special Education or Counseling;
  • Appropriate certification/licensure;
  • Strong understanding of differentiation and specific learning differences, behavioral/emotional differences and teaching writing and conceptualized mathematics;
  • Native English language speaker;
  • Understanding and knowledge in child/adolescent psychology and development;
  • Exceptional communication, data analysis, leadership, and organizational skills;
  • Strong technology skills (able to use Google apps, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
  • Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and colleagues;
  • Efficient organizational skills;
  • Technology skills (able to use MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
  • Display commitment to safeguarding and protection of children.
