ACS Athens, a student-centered international school embracing American educational philosophy, principles, and values, is seeking to recruit a dedicated Part-Time (40%) MS/HS Spanish Teacher to teach Middle and High School students.

 

The teacher reports to the Middle or High School Principals. This position is ideal for an educator looking for a flexible schedule within a world-class academic environment. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic learning environment that fosters language acquisition, cultural understanding, and academic excellence.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Engaging Instruction: Design and deliver engaging Spanish lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of Middle and High School learners.

  • Center on Learners: Differentiate instruction to meet the varied needs of students aged 12–18. Innovate and refine teaching strategies to promote deeper learning and student engagement.

  • Monitor and Support Learning: Employ continuous assessment to monitor and enhance student progress.

  • Inclusivity: Cultivate an inclusive classroom that embraces diversity, equity, and respect

  • Collaborate and Contribute: Actively engage in departmental initiatives, team planning, and whole-school professional learning.

  • Commit to Professional Growth: Stay current with curriculum trends and teaching strategies through professional development.

  • Support Co-curricular Activities: Participate in school events, conferences, and other non-classroom initiatives.

  • Additional Responsibilities: Carry out other duties as assigned by school leadership.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Spanish from an accredited institution

  • Certification: Teaching license or equivalent to teach 6-12 Spanish

  • Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience in the subject area. Preferred: experience teaching in US schools

  • Language skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Technology: Proficient in technology for both professional and educational use

  • Display commitment to safeguarding and protection of children.
