Responsibilities:<ol><li>Performs day-to-day activities such as accounting entries, register and filing, bank and other general ledger accounts reconciliations.</li><li>Matches and reviews the accuracy of all vendors’ invoices in Company’s ERP system in order to assure their timely payment and control the Company’s cash flow.</li><li>Posts all relevant accounting entries under the correct expense categories in order to provide correct information to the Senior Accountants for the preparation of the financial statements.</li><li>Performs procedures related to the Greek Law N.89.</li><li>Performs bank reconciliation and ensures that cash amounts in accounting ledgers reconcile with actual bank balance.</li><li>Checks all invoices and custom regulations, so that the company is granted VAT exemption.</li><li>Maintains Greek accounting books and handles all tax issues.</li><li>Reviews revenue accounting entries based on their supporting documents, in order to ensure timely closing of accounts.</li><li>Posts all relevant accounting entries under the correct expense categories, so as to provide correct information to the Senior Accountants for the preparation of the financial statements.</li><li>Prepares, examines and settles vendors’ reconciliations assuring that vendors’ requests are met based on payment agreement and that no delays exist in the accounts payable process.</li><li>Prepares the final payment amounts and makes the respective entries of employees’ corporate credit cards assuring the implementation of Company’s “credit card policy”.</li></ol>Qualifications / Experience:<ol><li>Bachelor degree in Accounting/ Finance or any relevant field.</li><li>Minimum 2&nbsp;years of experience in various accounting areas (A/R, A/P, general entries, B / C category books).</li><li>Experience in the shipping industry will be considered an asset.</li><li>Knowledge of Navision will be considered an asset.</li><li>Fluency in English.</li><li>Computer literacy.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure</li></ol>

Accountant

Responsibilities:<ul><li>Support SOX Compliance program to ensure that Company’s internal controls over financial reporting are effectively implemented. Main tasks of the program involve the evaluation of the existing controls’ effectiveness through testing procedures, identification and evaluation of audit findings and remediation follow-up. &nbsp;Assist in the preparation of SOX scoping, risk assessment and fraud risk assessment using quantitative and qualitative factors.</li><li>Participate in meetings with Company’s key personnel to gain understanding of Company’s processes and existing controls.</li><li>Assist in the preparation and provision of documentation related to process walkthroughs.</li><li>Assisting in execution of planned and ad-hoc internal audits projects through all phases of the audit (documentation review, fieldwork, recommendations and remediation follow-up).</li><li>Identify, document and communicate audit findings to the members of Internal Audit Department. Participate and assist in the preparation of presentations to the Company’s Audit Committee and Management.</li><li>Communicate with Company’s external auditors around SOX Compliance program, as well as any other Company’s independent auditor and/ or consultant.</li></ul>Qualifications / Experience:<ul><li>University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field.</li><li>Up to 4 years of experience in Big Four or in an internal audit / accounting/ finance department of a public shipping company.</li><li>Professional qualifications (e.g. CIA) and/ or postgraduate degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration related fields will be considered an asset.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and experience in internal audit, SOX will be considered an asset.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge in Accounting ERP systems (i.e. Navision) will be considered an asset.</li><li>Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially in Excel.</li><li>Fluency in English, both verbal and written.</li></ul>
