Assistant Professor in Shipping

The Department of Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Computer Science, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Deree-The American College of Greece is looking for a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate professor depending on qualifications. The candidate must have practical and theoretical knowledge in Cloud Computing Security, Digital Forensics, Data Science on Cyber Security, Security on Operating Systems and Malware Threats. Responsibilities for the position include lecturing in PG and UG courses, research in a related area, curriculum contribution, and department/Institution service. The position is full-time for one year and may be renewable upon agreement of all parties. The successful candidate will directly report to the Academic Dean and have a record of professional experience that demonstrates the ability to undertake the following:<ul><li>Develop a mission that supports the particular goals of the Division&nbsp;</li><li>and ACT’s broader goals.</li><li>Build strong relationships with the community.</li><li>Represent the interests of the Business Division to ACT’s administration and outside constituencies.</li><li>Provide a key communication link between the ACT administration and Division faculty.</li><li>Develop partnerships with other universities.</li><li>Promote excellence in teaching, research and service.</li><li>Oversee the departmental assessment process and conduct periodic program reviews.</li><li>Oversee accreditation &amp; validation reviews.</li><li>Drive program development, evaluation and growth.</li><li>Oversee external grants, special programs and development projects.</li><li>Coordinate the Division’s curricula in cooperation with the relevant coordinator(s).</li><li>Assist in hiring new faculty.</li><li>Oversee faculty development and evaluation.</li><li>Assist in new student recruitment.</li><li>Oversee retention of majors.</li><li>Oversee student affairs, including advising and internships.</li><li>develop and monitor the Division budget.</li></ul>Position Requirements<ul><li>A doctoral Degree in an academic area that relates to the Business&nbsp;</li><li>division.</li><li>Demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement in higher education.</li><li>Demonstrated record of successful leadership and administrative experience in academic settings.</li><li>Excellent command of the English language.</li><li>Excellence in oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Interest and experience in developing partnerships with schools in the US and with the community in Greece.</li><li>Demonstrated teaching experience and ability to teach in one of the areas offered by the Business Division. A minimum of six years of university/college-level teaching experience or other relevant work experience is required.
